Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is one of the most popular recipe in India which originated from Punjab region, popular in most of the countries around the world. Today i am going to share my recipe of Butter Chicken which i happen to make over the weekend.

Chicken - 1 Kg (Boneless will be better or else you can also cook with bones)
Shan Butter Chicken Masala - 1 Packet
Onion – 2 Large
Tomato – 2 – 3 Large ones (de-seeded)
Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
Kasoori Methi- little
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
Amul Butter
Lemon Juice 1tbsp
Yoghurt- 1 small bowl / cup
Fresh Cream / Amul Cream
Salt (as per taste)
Coriander Leaves

Marinate the chicken with Shan Butter Chicken Masala, Ginger garlic paste (1tbsp) salt and yoghurt for 2-3 hours or you can even marinate the chicken a day prior and refrigerate it.

1 hour before cooking put lemon juice in the marination. Grind the onion & tomato separately and keep it aside.

Take butter in a pan and put the grind onions and saute it well.  Cook it properly till the raw smell of onions disappear.  Then add the tomato puree and saute for 5 minutes, add ginger garlic paste (1tbsp) and let it cook for another 5 minutes.

Add the marinated chicken, garam masala, red chilli powder, salt (as per taste)  and saute  till the masala is cooked well.  Once sauteed properly then add Kasoori Methi  and mix.

This is how the marinated Chicken looks

Hope you will try this recipes and if you do so please drop me a comment and let me know how it turned out to be.

Shan masala's are my favorite.  You will always find couple of them stored in my kitchen.

Few of my favorite Shan Masala's are Tandoori Masala, Butter Chicken, Bombay Chicken Biryani Masala, Achar Ghost, Zafarani Garam Masala to name few.

Earlier i used to purchase this masala's on my trip to Dubai or call from there when anyone happens to come down from Dubai but now to my delight its easily available in Foodhall at Palladium Lower Parel Phoenix Mall and is priced at INR 60/-, try out and i am sure you will like it.

Rest in next till then goodbye
