Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact & Pro Arte Pencil Brush

Lakme is one brand which has been ruling the market since ages and keep coming up with new products every season. The change of products and packaging has been their mantra since old times. The other brands adapted this concept quiet later on.  

The product which you bought earlier,  after certain time the same product might not be there. I remember during my college or rather school days there was this lipstick that I was totally hooked on to,  the shade was BO4 and it was a gorgeous color in mud brown.

This shade from Lakme ruled many hearts, later the packaging was changed with the new one. Along with the packaging the color underwent a drastic change. It was no longer that earthy warm shade that stole everyone's heart. 

With their new Absolute Face Stylist Range, Lakme has shot up its price quiet a bit. Are these products worth the hike ??? lets find out...

Lip Combo : Maybelline Lipstick And Lakme Lip Liner

Every time I review a lipstick, it makes me realize that I have so many of them and at least for some time , should ban purchasing one.... that.... is a confession of a shopaholic :).  Girls ! have you seen this movie "Confession of a Shopaholic" ??? if not then I recommend do watch it. Its hilarious :)

Today I am going to review a beautiful shade from Maybelline which is staple lipstick in my vanity. I have already exhausted two and this is my third buy. I love it so much !!!. Along with it, to define my lips is a gorgeous shade of Lakme Lip Liner in Brick Rose from their 9 to 5 range.

Revealed ! Whats in the Box

Few days back I had asked all my readers to guess whats in the box. There were few who left the comments on the blog post (Thank you to all of them for making the efforts in removing time and dropping their comments... December Empties

Today I am going to review all the empties that I have exhausted in the month of December 2013.

1) Lakme Sunscreen - It comes with SPF 50 and gives a good coverage in protecting the skin from harsh sun rays, been using this for quiet some time now and I am quiet happy with it. Suits my skin and does not make it greasy. Would re-purchase this again

2) TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo - This is become one of my favorite shampoo. My hair-fall has been reduced and my hair feels soft. It's reasonable priced.  Already purchased one since the current one i am using got exhausted.

Drugstore Products - Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick & Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist

I happen to pick up few lipsticks and gloss the last time i went shopping, so today i am going to review Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in Coral Rose and Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist in Burgundy Burn.

Packaging

I absolutely love the packaging. The box is a combination of Black with the silver print on it. Once you open the box the compact comes in velvet case which has a Lakme logo embossed on it. Thou the velvet case attract lot of dust but it reduces the finger prints on the compact case. There is a small piece of paper inside the velvet case with the instruction about using the product for the day look and night look which might be helpful. The compact case is of a gunmetal color plastic, again with Lakme logo embossed in the center. The case looks sleek & chic. Once opened, you get a large round mirror that comes with a protective sticker that needs to be peeled before use. The compact powder is housed in a plastic disc that can be lifted up to reveal a sponge applicator which is buttery soft.

My Experience: 

I was shown the shade Golden Medium 03 as per my skin tone. When applied over the face it gave me nice dewy look. Let me emphasize on one point here, once you apply your foundation or a compact give it 5-10 min to settle down and then take a call on the product. Having said that since the Lakme Absolute comes in only three shades it might not give an appropriate result on duskier skin tones.  It gives sheer to medium coverage, blends well and helps to even out the base fairly. 

You can use this compact in many ways. If you want to settle the foundation then it’s advisable to use a brush and apply the compact with a light hand (otherwise you might end up looking cakey). If you want more coverage you can wet the sponge and apply the compact evenly all over your face for heavy coverage. You can also apply this compact just after sunscreen and moisturizing your skin to give you a nice fresh look. 

Make sure when you are applying over foundation apply it with a light hand or going in for wet application then you need to blend it well. Thou I use it just as a compact (dry application) for everyday use over my sunscreen and moisturizer. Few times I have used it over my foundation also with light hand and it works fine for me. 

The texture is smooth and buttery. The powder is fine, soft and silky against your skin. The claim of lasting 16 hrs is somewhat I don’t agree with but it last as good as 6-7 hours. It does not control oil hence it’s not advisable for people who have oily skin.

Final Verdict

 I like this compact as it’s easy to use and convenient to carry. It’s great for everyday wear over sunscreen and moisturizer and you are sorted for the day. Give you a nice dewy fresh and radiant look. Thou its little expensive and has limited shade selection. Would not recommend for people who have oily skin.
