Mac Addiction - Goldmine And Melba

Whenever I spot a Mac store in near vicinity, it gives me a feeling of excitement, my heart skips a beat realizing that I am going to burn a hole in my wallet before the feeling of excitement returns :)

When you enter a Mac store, its not one product that you are attracted to, I don't know whether all the ladies out there feel the same but this is how I  feel.

Mac has some very beautiful colors in eyeshadow and this time one particular shade caught my eye, a gorgeous gold eyeshadow which would look great,  teaming up with other colors. The second product which was on my wish list for a long time was Melba blush and at the first available opportunity I purchased it.

Mac Fix Plus

First up , Max Fix Plus I had purchased long time back, but just did not get around to review it (Better late than never). 

So what's Mac Fix Plus all about ....
 

An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!

MAC Lipsticks - Ruby Woo & Chili

MAC is one store, where most of us girls behave like kids (at least i do). Be it their lipsticks or eye shadows, we want to try everything and want everything, deciding which ones to go for,  is really difficult  since our mind is in so many products. Good pigmentation and high on quality , but heavy on pocket too.

On my recent visit to MAC, I picked up two beautiful shades of lipstick. Ruby Woo and Chili, Both are gorgeous and unique shades. Loved it !!!

Best Products of 2013...

I have come across many beauty products in 2013, few of them loved it  and others I did not like much  . There were many that I wanted to list down but then this post would be quiet a lengthy one. I have short listed few very good ones that I plan to stick around in 2014 as well.

Lets walk thru and see which products were really great in the year 2013....

MacPro Long Wear Carefree Eye Shadow

I was sold out on this product when i was shown at Mac store even before purchasing it. Boy, what a shade. I absolutely love highlighting shades and this one looked very promising to me. It not only work as an eye shadow but doubles as an amazing highlighter.

Pro long wear eye shadow are supposed to wear for eight hours with silky creamy texture that yield maximum color impact.

Carefree is described by Mac as "Pale White Gold".  Let me tell you that it won me over with its good pigmentation although its slightly powder to the touch but its not chalky like some eye shadows, particularly some highlight shades can be.

Carefree lives up-to its title of Pro Long Wear, as it last 7-8 hours approx on areas like brow bone and cheekbones. Even thou Carefree is described as white gold  it has gold flecks running through it. When applied it does gives gold undertones which works fine as a highlighter.

Comes in a classic black packaging of course! by now we all are too familiar with the Classic Mac Packaging aren't we ?? You might think they are more or less the same size as regular Mac eye shadows but on the contrary they are actually a bit larger. Pro Long wear eye shadow contains 3.4 grams of product compared to regular Mac eye shadow that contains 1.5 grams of product.

Final Verdict

If you are a fan of highlighting shades then i definitely recommend Mac Pro Long Wear Eye Shadow in Carefree. You can do multi-tasking with this particular shade, be it eye shadow or highlighting and it does last long. I just love this shade and yes i would definitely recommend this and buy it again.

Mac Give me Sun - Mineralize Skin Finish Bronzer

Give me sun! Is a product from MAC in their mineralize skin finish natural permanent line. I wanted to buy a bronzer for quite some time which would compliment my skin tone without being too loud and when I happen to visit the Mac store the attendant showed me this beautiful Bronzer in Give me Sun.

 

Give me sun is described as “light summery peachy tan” making it perfect for both bronzing & contouring. I am NC41 & this shade really goes well on my skin tone. If applied properly & carefully it’s a really nice bronzer. A light hand in applying & a little is enough to give you that nice sun kissed glow. 

No sparkles very pigmented, pretty matte and a little goes a long way. It gives a very natural look.  I love the color & finish. Make you look alive and radiant.

The color blends well and doesn't look chalky on skin. I think this would look best on medium skin tones and some light skin tones. Lighter skin tones may have to have a very light hand when applying though!

Final Verdict

Good for medium skin tones for bronzing & contouring. You can also use it on the apple of your cheeks as a blush but with a very light hand. Thou it is expensive but definitely will last long.

Mac Prep+Prime Skin Smoother Base Visage

What it Claims

A velvety skin perfecting primer that instantly fills in fine lines and wrinkles. Contains powerful anti-oxidants, evens skin tone and mattifies - while softening the skin. Convenient compact makes it perfect for on-the-go moments.

Packaging

The packaging is gorgeous……It comes in a nice compact form with mirror inside. Unlike other primer which mostly comes in tube form. This one is just like your Mac compact studio fix compact, thou much sleeker & also travel friendly.  

Texture

The texture is creamy. It has sort of a waxy feel at first.  There is no sponge in the compact as Mac recommends that you can apply this product with the help of your fingers. Thou I would say you can also use a flat brush to apply this product if you don’t want to use your fingers.   

MAC Prep + Prime Skin Smoother is MAC's new offering. I love the way that this primer feels on my skin. It helps my makeup go on smooth & last long. It gives me a very smooth base to work on my foundation. After applying Mac Pre+prime Skin Smoother the pores on my skin does look really less.

Final Verdict  

All in all it’s a good product provided that your skin is not too oily & it suits your skin.Thou the price is like a pinch to your pocket but then I believe all the good high end brands does not come cheap.
